This Privacy Policy explains how NexCast ('we', 'us') collects, uses, and protects information when you use our podcast hosting and distribution platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

2. Data We Collect

  • Email address — used for account creation, login, and important service notifications.
  • Account information — display name, password hash, and authentication provider data (e.g. Google sign-in identifiers).
  • Uploaded content — podcast audio, video, artwork, episode metadata, and show settings you create.
  • Usage analytics — pages visited, features used, error logs, IP address, browser, and device type, used to improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide the Service — host your media, generate RSS feeds, and deliver episodes to listeners.
  • To improve the platform — diagnose issues, develop new features, and measure performance.
  • To communicate with you — send service updates, security alerts, and respond to support requests.

4. Data Storage

  • Account data and metadata are stored in our managed backend infrastructure (Supabase / Lovable Cloud) located in secure data centers.
  • Media files (audio, video, images) are stored in cloud object storage with public read access where required for podcast distribution.
  • Backups are encrypted at rest.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Authentication providers — Google OAuth for social sign-in. Only your email and profile name are received.
  • Analytics tools — anonymized product analytics to understand feature usage and platform performance.
  • Podcast directories — when you submit your RSS feed to Spotify, Apple, YouTube Music, etc., those platforms receive your feed contents per their own privacy policies.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We may use first-party analytics cookies to measure usage. We do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.

7. Your Rights

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Delete — delete your account and associated content at any time from account settings or by request.
  • Correct — request changes to inaccurate personal information.
  • Portability — export your show metadata and RSS feed at any time.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest for backups, hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and Row-Level Security on our database. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. The 'Last updated' date below indicates when the policy was last revised.
